About wallabag

wallabag is an MIT-licensed read-later service you can run yourself for nothing, or pay the project founder Nicolas Lœuillet to host: wallabag.it costs 11 EUR a year, or 4 EUR for three months, after a 14-day free trial that takes no card and does not auto-renew. That hosted option is the general-reader-friendly way into open-source read-later, since self-hosting sits at moderate difficulty. It reads offline and covers highlights, private RSS feeds, ePUB and PDF export, save-by-email, EU hosting and GDPR compliance, and it exports to ePUB, PDF, XML, JSON and CSV. Be aware the mobile apps are the weakest part: the iOS app, Wallabag Reader, is published by District Web and rated 3.32 from 37 ratings, and the Android app has 3.9 stars from around 600 reviews. Its Pocket-import documentation still describes an OAuth and API method that is permanently broken.
