Raindrop.io is the most recommended "Pocket alternative" in search results, and it is worth being precise about what it is: a bookmark manager. Its own help documentation answers the offline question with "No. An internet connection is required to sync changes and save new bookmarks", and there is no text-to-speech and no RSS. What it does well it does very well — a genuinely usable free tier with unlimited bookmarks, collections and highlights, both import and export, 2,600+ integrations, a public API, no ads, and the Stella AI assistant added in February 2026. Pro is $3 a month or $28 a year. Its free-plan export covers HTML, CSV, TXT and a ZIP of your uploads, with only automatic daily backups held back for Pro, which makes it one of the lowest-lock-in tools in the category. It has been running 13 years under a single sole proprietor, Rustem Mussabekov. Note that its Pocket-import documentation is stale: it still points at an export page that stopped working in November 2025.
