About Instapaper
Instapaper saves articles to read later, strips them down for reading, and caches 500 of them on the device so you can read with no connection at all. The free tier covers unlimited saves, sync, folders and the API; Premium is $5.99 a month or $59.99 a year and adds text-to-speech AI Voices, speed reading and a PDF reader. Highlights, notes, and both Kobo and Kindle sync are part of the package, and it replaced Pocket as Kobo’s built-in read-later integration, announced 21 July 2025 and live from 28 August 2025. Two honest caveats: the free web version carries ads, and the current release requires iOS 26.0 or later, so older iPhones stay on an older build. It has been independent since a July 2018 management buyout, and its owner-operator says plainly: "We’re not VC-backed. We’re not owned by a big tech company. We’re profitable, independent, and this is our only focus."
